Good news for AC/DC’s Brian Johnson. The singer seemingly is optimistic about the treatment he’s been receiving for his hearing condition.
He’s reportedly met with in-ear technology specialist Stephen Ambrose and is trying out Ambrose’s ADEL hearing technology. In a statement posted to Ambrose’s Facebook page, Johnson says of the treatment, “It works.”
He adds, “I was really moved and amazed to be able to hear music again like I haven’t heard for several years now. I can’t wait for it to be miniaturized so I can use it in every situation from normal communication, going out to noisy restaurants, to performing live music onstage.”
AC/DC was forced to postpone tour dates because Johnson’s condition threatened to leave him with “total hearing loss.” The band has since hired Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose to replace Brian on the band’s European and North American tour legs, but it hasn’t been announced if Rose will permanently take over for Johnson.
