We Know The Secret Recipe Of The Ekka Strawberry Ice Creams
The countdown to the Ekka is on and it means one thing... Strawberry Ice Creams!
We were lucky enough to go behind the scenes at Lick Ice Cream to find out exactly how it is all made... and let's just say we were in ice cream heaven!!!!
The ice cream is made in Brisbane, the strawberries are all grown on a farm in Queensland and it is ONLY available at the Ekka across those ten days.
What's more impressive is the fact that last year over 182,000 strawberry ice creams were sold - and over 24,000 litres of the stuff is being chilled as we speak ahead of this year's celebrations!
That is a LOT of ice cream.
Where would they store such a backlog of yummy goodness?
A MASSIVE, FREEEEEZING cold industrial cold room - we're not joking, they took us in and it was -20 degrees.
In short sleeves, we definitely weren't prepared.
But it was all worth it for a taste of that strawberry ice cream at the end of our exclusive tour.
How many will you down during the Ekka period?
