Elvis's one time Tour Manager Jerry Schilling gave us a no holds barred account of what he was like when the camera's stopped recording.

"He was a great guy; he was a great friend but I think people perceive him more from the boy next door movies where he is walking around singing a song," Schilling said.
"Elvis was a very complex nice guy – but he was also James Dean and early Brando."
While always depicted as a nice guy heartthrob, Schilling said there was a real human behind the persona who was not perfect.
In fact Elvis allegedly had a temper and could be quite moody.
"He could be moody. All those elements made you love him that much more because he was class," he said.
"He had a temper but he chose to control it most of the time.
"The iconic image is a wonderful thing but it loses the humanity in other ways."
