Woman To Face Qld Court On Manslaughter After Car Incident

A woman accused of being drunk when she allegedly drove over a man north of Brisbane on Friday has been charged with manslaughter.

Police found the 56-year-old's body after being called to an address on Newlands Road in Wamuran, near Caboolture, about 7pm.

"Emergency services were called to an address on Newlands Road at around 7:00pm following reports a man had been struck by a car," the police statement read. 

"On arrival officers located a 56-year-old man deceased at the scene.

"A 52-year-old woman, who was known to the man, was taken into custody and has subsequently been charged with one count each of manslaughter and high range drink driving (BAC 0.241%)."

A 52-year-old woman known to the man is due to appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court on Monday after being charged with manslaughter and high range drink driving.
