A woman has been found dead in the middle of a quiet suburban street on the Gold Coast.

A man - said to be the woman's ex-husband - was later found badly injured in a nearby street, media at the scene reported on Monday.

The 51-year-old woman's body was found in Arthur Payne Court, Worongary by a neighbour at 11.15pm on Sunday.

Police are treating her death as suspicious and have established a crime scene.
