Two Teens Charged After Stolen Vehicle Tracked By POLAIR

A 15yo and a 16yo have been charged with multiple offences after a police chase was tracked by POLAIR overnight.

The pair were arrested in Brisbane's south after a car stolen from a property in NSW was seen driving dangerously through Inala and then onto the Ipswich Motorway.

"It will be alleged at around 5.45pm POLAIR 2 observed a four-wheel-drive that was stolen on April 25 from a property in New South Wales being driven along Skylark Street in Inala," the police report states.

"POLAIR continued to monitor the car as it travelled along the Ipswich Motorway into the Ipswich area before heading back to Inala.

"The vehicle was observed allegedly travelling at high speeds and through a number of red traffic lights, failing to stop for police.

"A tyre deflation device was successfully deployed on Freeman Road in Richlands and the alleged occupants of the car fled once the vehicle slowed to a stop at Kelliher Road.

"Police and officers from the Dog Squad commenced a short foot pursuit and two boys were arrested near the Centenary Highway."

The two teens were charged with multiple offences each.

"A 15-year-old North Booval boy has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing, receiving tainted property and driving of a vehicle without a licence," the police report states.

"A 16-year-old Gailes boy has been charged with two counts of stealing and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and receiving tainted property."
