Truckie Admits To Snatching, Raping QLD Woman

A NSW truckie kidnapped a woman from her Queensland home and raped and assaulted her for more than 12 hours in a random attack.

Robert Andrew Bennett pleaded guilty in the Brisbane District Court on Monday to a number of offences over the attack.

He took the 22-year-old from her Brisbane home about 8pm one night in August 2017.

It was alleged Bennett drove her to a number of nearby locations and repeatedly assaulted her before releasing her the next afternoon.

She was found by police and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Bennett was arrested that same day in the NSW town of Grafton, about 220km south of the border, and extradited to Queensland.

On Monday, Bennett was convicted on his own guilty plea of four counts of rape, kidnapping, burglary and sexual assault.

He will be sentenced on July 12.
