The Entire State Of South Australia Has No Power

All of South Australia is without power after wild weather battered the state.

It is being reported the storm damaged power infrastructure with authorities warning it could be several hours before it is restored.

It is predicted many could be left without power till 4.15am Thursday.

According to the Premier, the power network shut down to “protect itself” and the “national energy market”.

As a result of the outage, more than 20,000 properties have been left without power said SA Power.

The CBD has been described as being in total darkness, with traffic lights across the state also down.

 Locals are being warned by police to stay inside and avoid driving. They have also been encouraged to conserve the batteries on their mobile.

It’s believed the weather system is one of the most extreme to have hit the state in 50 years.

According to Higgins Storm Chasing, a tornado touched down in Blyth before hitting the town of Clare. There haven’t been any reported injuries.

The forecasters are warning that it looks like a cyclone will hit South Australia tomorrow morning.

It’s predicted to bring winds of up to 150km/hr and 13 meter waves.
