Queensland Private School In Quarantine After Bug Outbreak
The Southport School is currently battling with a stomach bug that has struck down a number of students - predominantly boarders.
Those who are contaminated have allegedly been quarantined in a school theatre to prevent the bug from spreading further.
We are very pleased to welcome back our current and new students to the 2018 academic year. It was great to see the boys adapting so well on day one, with plenty of smiles seen across both the Junior and Senior schools. Much like our Year 5 cohort who spent time participating in fun ‘Getting to Know You’ activities, like this one #thesouthportschool #dayone #welcome
Staff, including the Dean of Boarding Tony Watt, were quick to follow Queensland Health's guidelines after the outbreak.
"We had 20 students in our health centre, and had to move some to our school hall for quarantine," Mr Watt said.
