Qld Uber Driver Accused Of Detaining Woman
A Brisbane Uber driver accused of detaining a female passenger for more than an hour is due to face court.
It's expected Umar Subi-Gammeda will fight a charge of depravation of liberty, laid after he allegedly refused to drop off a 25-year-old passenger who was heading to a Fortitude Valley bar last August.
Police said the Ethiopian-born man instead drove through inner-city suburbs for more than an hour before heading south in the Clem 7 Tunnel.
As part of bail conditions, the 45-year-old has been banned from working as an Uber driver.
His matter is listed at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday.
