OJ Simpson Could Be Released From Prison On October One
O.J. Simpson could be released on parole as soon as Monday 1 October (US time).
The 70-year-old is currently at Lovelock Correctional Centre in Northern Nevada, Las Vegas and is awaiting transfer to another prison, where he would be freed.
A prison spokeswoman, Brooke Keast, said that plans were being finalised for the former football player/actor who was gaoled for armed robbery and kidnapping convictions in 2008.
He was sentenced to up to 33 years behind bars after a confrontation with two sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel room. He has currently served eight.
"We've been trying to keep things as normal as possible," Ms Keast told the CNN.
Simpson was acquitted in 1995 of murder charged in the 1994 slayings of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ronald Goldman.
The story of this trial has been played out in numerous tele-movies, series and documentaries.
