Police in Brisbane are hunting for a man who allegedly punched a boy in the face before throwing him to the ground and trying to strangle him in a playground last month.
The nine-year-old was playing with other children at a park in Algester on the afternoon of September 25 when he was allegedly assaulted by the man before he could run away without sustaining any serious injuries.
The incident occurred when the young boy was playing on the playground equipment on the coroner of Yorrell Street and Ridgewood Road when he was approached by a man.

"He was not seriously injured during the incident.
"The man is described as Asian in appearance, aged between 30 to 40, approximately 172 centimetres tall, short black hair with a proportionate build and last seen wearing a short sleeve purple shirt."
