Man Attacked And Killed In Suburban Brisbane

A 35-year-old man has been attacked and killed in the front yard of his Brisbane home overnight with police believing he may have been outside checking a power outage when he was set upon.

Police say the man was attacked with an unknown weapon at around 12.30am on Wednesday outside his house on Saint George Street in the suburb of Kuraby.

He was found dead in the front yard a short time later with significant wounds, police say.

Queensland Detective Tony Fleming says a full murder manhunt is now underway.

"It is normally a quiet area. This is certainly not something that we expected and that's why we have pulled all our resources out and we are following up with as much vigour as we can," Det Fleming told the Nine Network.
