Injured Queensland Cop Moved Out Of Intensive Care
A Queensland police officer seriously injured when hit by a car he was trying to stop will be moved out of intensive care.
Constable Peter McAulay, 24, had just laid down tyre spikes in an attempt to stop a vehicle allegedly being driven by two teens last week when he was struck.
Now talking and sitting up, he will be moved on Friday from the intensive care unit of Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital into another ward after surgery for a serious head injury.
"Peter is now listed as stable, however will require intensive treatment for critical injuries received at Booval last week," police said in a statement on Thursday.
A 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl have been charged with one count each of attempted murder and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
