Graffiti Reveals Alleged Reason Behind Suspicious QLD Fire

A suspicious house fire has gutted an Ashmore home this morning on the Gold Coast.

But it's the graffiti emblazoned across the back of the house that has raised eyebrows.

The spray painted message allegedly reads, "This is for f***ing my wife".

The exact cause of the fire is currently unknown, however photos show a ute parked beside the house up in flames indicating the vehicle is the primary source of the blaze.

"Police are investigating a suspicious house fire at Ashmore this morning," the police report states.

"Around 8.00am, police were called to Belah Street with multiple reports of a building on fire.

"The 46-year-old sole male occupant of the residence was not home at the time.

"Preliminary information indicates that a person has forced entry to the man’s utility before reversing it against the right side of the building and igniting the rear of the vehicle.

"The fire then quickly spread to the nearby residence, causing significant damage to its interior and destroying the vehicle. Investigations continue."
