Five Teens Injured After Mt Tamborine Traffic Accident
Two teenage boys have critical injuries and another is in an induced coma after their car crashed in the Gold Coast hinterland.
The 16-year-old driver lost control of the car while travelling east on Beacon Road at Tamborine Mountain on Wednesday about 5.40am.
The vehicle flipped and rolled, trapping two 14-year-old boys who were seated in the back.
Those boys were flown to the Queensland Children's Hospital with critical head, chest and limb injuries.
The driver was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains in an induced coma with significant head injuries.
A 14-year-old passenger in the front seat and another boy sitting in the back suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital as a precaution.
Police are investigating and the road remains closed.
