Drunk Guy Arrested After Riding Lime Scooter 3.5x Over Limit
A 43 year old man has been arrested and charged after allegedly riding a Lime Scooter through the Valley 3.5 times over the BAC limit.
The man was also not wearing a helmet and ran a red light on James St.
He was apprehended and returned a 0.174 reading in a breathalyzer test.
The incident occured within the confines of the Fortitude Valley Safe Night Precinct on Saturday night.
"He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 6," the police report states.
"Police would like to remind those who choose to ride personal mobility devices, such as electronic scooters, that drink driving laws apply, as with cars and other vehicles.
"The QPS will not hesitate to take enforcement action against anyone found to be riding an electronic scooter whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
"Queensland road rules also state that all personal mobility device users must wear an approved helmet."
