GREAT News For Aussie Fans Of Costco!
COSTCO is reportedly making plans towards becoming a major big box retailer in Australia.
Reports say the retail giant began cashing in on Masters’ demise, with construction starting on its new store in Marsden Park, Sydney.
According to news.com.au, as Masters becomes a ghost store at Sydney Business Park, due to Woolworths’ failed multibillion-dollar experiment, Costco is set to boom next to Ikea, Bunnings and Aldi.
The American discount store already has eight stores across Australia but has plans to open two stores every year.
Costco managing director Patrick Noone told Nine News that this will also be the first Costco big box store in Australia where customers can purchase fuel.
Marketing Focus retail analyst and managing director Barry Urquhart told news.com.au, he thinks purchasing Masters’ ghost stores would be a good plan, with Costco needing a big box retail store.
