Alleged Christchurch Murderer Brenton Tarrant Shock Move
Alleged Australian extremist Brenton Tarrant, who is thought to have undertaken the mass shooting in Christchurch on Friday, has sacked his lawyer.
It is being reported by the New Zealand Herald that his former lawyer has said Tarrant is not mentally unstable.
Tarrant will now represent himself through the prosecution process in New Zealand.
Tarrant, 28, has been charged with one count of murder but is expected to be charged with more in the near future. He is originally from Grafton in New South Wales but moved to Dunedin in New Zealand.
He did not require a visa to enter New Zealand because as an Australian he was able to enter the country and live without one.
He will face further charges before he next appears in court on April 5.
He did not apply for bail when he was before the court on Saturday.
