Big Changes To QLD Primary School Water Safety In 2019
From 2019 ALL Queensland primary school students will undergo swimming lessons and be taught water safety skills - and to be honest, it can't come soon enough.
The state government has committed $3.68 million annually towards the program.
The focus will be especially strengthened for remote areas, where the risk of water mishaps is heightened.
"Swimming and water sports are an integral part of Queensland life, and we want to ensure our children are safe," state Education Minister Grace Grace said.
Any initiative to increase swim safety and prevent the unthinkable is a positive by us.
Do you think compulsory swimming and water safety lessons in schools is a good idea?
