Dad Who Abandoned Toddler At Logan River Bank Admits Guilt

A man who abandoned his toddler in a park south of Brisbane and then lied about what happened to him for a decade will be sentenced for his son's manslaughter.

Baden Bond's father Shane Arthur Simpson admits he caused the 22-month-old's death after leaving him at the park at dusk in May 2007.

His body has never been found and what happened to him after he was abandoned on the banks of the Logan River is unknown.

The boy was born to Dina Colleen Bond with methamphetamine in his system, and was blamed by his parents for being the reason their other children were taken into state care because of his condition at birth.

Bond has pleaded guilty to two counts of being an accessory to the manslaughter for keeping up the lies about Baden.

The pair will be sentenced in Brisbane Supreme Court on Thursday.
