Abandoned Retirement Village Up In Flames In Carina

An abandoned nursing home has gone up in flames overnight with over thirteen fire trucks called in to respond.

The Salvin Park Blue Nursing Home was located at 880 Creek Rd, Carina Heights in Brisbane's east and spans approx 5000 square metres.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman told the Courier Mail last night that "the building was well alight and fire crews will be tackling the blaze".

This is the second time crews have had to put out a fire this week with QFES receiving a call at 4pm on January 18, reporting a fire.

It was brought under control in less than an hour.
