System Outage Leaves Big Queues At Airports During Heatwave

Customers are not happy after a Jetstar IT system outage across multiple airports, leading to lengthy delays, huge queues and confusion. 

The system outage occurred on Friday morning, ahead of what is poised to be one of the hottest weekends in February. 

While the outage has now been fixed, their has been a lasting impact as the airline carrier attempt to play catch up. 

"We had a short outage with one of our systems which has now been restored," a Jetstar spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia.

"There were some flight delays as a result and our teams are now getting our customers moving to their destinations.

"We apologise for the disruption to our customers' travel plans."

According to their website three flights from Sydney to Brisbane were delayed between 40 minutes and two hours.

Meanwhile four flights from Sydney to Melbourne were each delayed at least an hour. 

The remaining flights from Melbourne to Gold Coast are all also expected to be delayed by an hour or more.
