Brisbane’s About To Get A NEW Cinema And Shopping Precinct!
Good news if you love a movie, food and retail therapy, because Brisbane’s about to get a new entertainment precinct with just that!
Plans are underway for South City Square in Woolloongabba with the leases for a Woolworths and Reading Entertainment cinema signed and locked in.
The development is being sold as a retail and lifestyle destination for South Brisbane and then anticipated 4000 new apartments expected in the area.
According to the Financial Review, 1000 apartments alone will be built as part of the South City Square precinct.
Developers, Pellicano and Perri Projects, say they plan to build a “concentrated activity centre” offering premium retail, hospitality, residential and public spaces.
Brisbane Development reports that the retail area will be spread over multiple levels.
It will also utilise a “state-of-the-art lower-ground model” that will see Woolworths situated on the lower ground level – allowing more space on the ground level.
Both Woolworths and Reading Entertainment have signed 15 year leases.
