Big W Has Made A HUGE Change And They Hope You Don't Notice
The Age is reporting that Big W has made a big change to the way it is operating.. and hopes we don’t notice.
Figures obtained by Fairfax show the Woolworths-owned department store has halved its advertising expenditure.
The AQX data shows that this year, so far, Big W only spent $9.87 million in advertising, but last year, in the same time frame, they had spent $22.5 million.
The 186-store chain is coming under increasing pressure to revive itself following the success of Kmart.
A Big W spokeswoman said "We'll be looking at all aspects of the BIG W business as part of the overall strategy, and our branding will be part of that, but we're very much at the start of that journey.’’
Big W has close to 2 million customers each week and 21,000 employees.
