This Mum Has Been Shamed for How She Treats Her Daughter
A mother has slammed critics who say her young daughter is being sexualised for wearing make-up, skimpy clothes and gets fake tans.
31-year-old mother, Jenna Eastland, buys extravagant gifts for her daughter Layla in a bid to help her follow her dreams of becoming famous.
According to the mum, her 7-year-old daughter is confident and "bored of real life" so she has chosen to embark on a career in showbiz.
Often posing for pictures with hair extensions and a full face of make-up, Layla's mum described her "not a normal seven-year-old", adding "she would be a great reality star".
After critics hit back at the mum for 'sexualising' her own daughter, Jenna said there's "something wrong" with people who see a child in such a way.
She said: "Layla just loves all attention being on her. She loves fake tan, make up, false eyelashes, hair pieces and bling.
"She would much rather get clothes or makeup than toys. It costs me a fortune. Dance costumes alone cost thousands.
"She only eats the white of eggs because she saw on YouTube it's better for you and she likes yoga and ice tea.
"Layla's got a six pack so she loves wearing belly tops and shorts.
"I guess people might think it's too young but its just Layla.
"I get abuse all the time saying I'm sexualizing her, but I think that if people think that then there's something sadly wrong with them even thinking that about a kid."
Layla, who is home schooled, has been dancing since the age of five and has competed in national competitions.
"Layla just wants to be doing something either dance competitions on pageants she's always asking me 'have we got anything this weekend?' she's bored of real life - it's not for her."
