This Bunnings Of The Future Is Like Nothing You’ve Seen
Unlike it’s failing competitors, Bunnings has been going from strength to strength.
While Masters was forced to shut up shop, the home hardware retail chain has been doing the exact opposite and these latest plans show they don’t plan to slow down any time soon.
The retailer is preparing to finally start building it’s latest store - more than six years after first purchasing the site, reports The Courier Mail.
And it’s like no other Bunnings you’ve seen before!
Spanning four levels and more than double the size of your average store, the inner-Brisbane site will be shared by multiple retailers.
Taking over the now empty lot at 142 – 160 Breakfast Creek Road, Newstead, the site is directly opposite the entry to Newstead House and just metres from the Breakfast Creek Hotel.
The store will include your traditional warehouse, timber trade area, outdoor nursery, six ground floor tenancies and 434 car parks.
As part of the plans, the Newstead store will replace the current Albion Bunnings located down the road, Your Neighbourhood reports.
Artists drawings show a sleek new look with glass walls and rooftop nursery.
It’s expected construction of the store will create 540 jobs while a further 230 jobs will be created with it’s completion according to Brisbane Development.
