The One Thing You’ll Never Get From Kate Middleton
Kate Middleton is a new age kind of Royal.
Just like her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, Duchess Kate is warm, smiley, approachable - not the traditional ‘icy’ Royal.
However, though she hugs babies and will take photos with you and engage in chatter with everyone she meets, there’s one thing we’re told she won’t do.
Like all the royals, Middleton is technically banned from signing her autograph for fans — royal protocol forbids members of the royal family from doing so, as the signature could then be taken, reproduced and forged.
Luckily, in the age of the selfie, autographs aren’t requested all that often anyway, but if you were hoping to receive a Royal scribble, you’d be out of luck.
According to OK Magazine, breaks from this royal rule are rare, although requests for autographs are constant — Prince Charles usually offers “sorry, they don’t allow me to do that,” by way of explanation when asked. However, he did break protocol in 2010, signing an autograph for a flood victim.
