How Photobombing One Photo Completely Changed A Woman's Life
You hear of stories about right place, right time... but this one takes the cake.
Olajumoke Orisaguna was minding her own business, walking to work with a day's worth of bread loaves balanced on her head.
She had left her husband and two children at home to sell bread in the city.
Then, unbeknownst to her, she photobombed a professional photo shoot with rapper Tinie Tempah in Nigeria.
And it was in that split second that her life completely changed.
BEATIFUL MISS X:WHO IS SHE.?Every one has been asking if this lady is a model .. It was just perfect coincidence ... She just happened to be walking by while I photographed . It happened so fast .She definitely SHOULD be a model. .. I'm happy to help her build a portfolio if she's interested .She's so beautiful and photographed so well. I'll find a way to track her down somehow . You guys can also help #lagos #doesanyonerecognizeher #okunorentwins #tinietempah @thisdaystyle #lagos
The resulting photo has gone viral worldwide - a perfect moment captured in time.
Photographer TY Bello was so captivated by this one accidental shot, that she posted the photo to instagram in 2016 with the caption that the woman in the picture 'should be a model'.
Flash forward 18 months and Olajumoke works as a professional model, all due to that one photo.
Super sleuths that spotted the image online managed to track her down and introduce her to Bello.
Things escalated quickly from there.
Her first magazine pictorial was featured in Nigerian press magazine Thisday Style.
The beautiful shots also showcase Orisaguna's 14 months daughter at the time and led to her first contract with agent Few Models Management.
As quoted in People magazine, that's the point where “long gone are the days of her making less than $20 each day and only profiting around $1”.
What's most refreshing is the model has remained humble despite her fast fame, remembering her beginnings and the blessing that she has been given through this opportunity.
Today the school @centreforlawandbusiness took us on excursion to historic sites in badagry to learn a bit about African & Nigerian history. I was left with mixed feelings, quite sad what our ancestors went through. God help me to use my platform to portray Africa positively to the world. Africa is great, Africa is beautiful. God bless Africa #Olajumoke #jummystars
“I never expected this would ever happen to me,” she told CNN.
“My friends have told me they saw me on the TV and they are really happy.
"My parents cannot believe their own child can become such a success.”
Could there be someone any more deserving of this life opportunity!
All the feels!
