Apple Are About To Make A HUGE Move
Cracked iPhone screens are so common that Apple is making it easier for everyone to get them fixed.
By the end of this year, Apple will put its proprietary machines for mending cracked iPhone glass in about 400 authorised third-party repair centres in 25 countries, company executives have told Reuters.
The move is a huge move by Apple, who has traditionally kept their own grip on the official repair services for their products.
The company has previously restricted the use of their Horizon Machine to its own 500 retail stalls and has guarded its design closely.
However, now it will deploy them to non-Apple repair shops around the world and has started with some Best Buy department stores in the US.
The initial Horizon Machine rollout by Apple aims to put machines in 200, or about 4 per cent, of Apple’s 4800 authorised service providers worldwide over the next few months. The company plans to double that figure by the end of the year.
