Paul McCartney-Michael Jackson Duet "Say Say Say" Unheard Vo

A new music video made to accompany a newly remixed version of Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson's chart-topping 1983 hit "Say Say Say" premiered Tuesday on McCartney's official Facebook page.

The track appears on the bonus disc included with the expanded versions of Sir Paul's newly reissued 1983 solo album, Pipes of Peace, and features previously unused vocals from the original recording sessions.

The black-and-white video was directed by choreographer Ryan Heffington, whose credits include Sia's "Chandelier" and "Elastic Heart" clips.  The flick follows an energetic teenage boy as he dances his way through his urban Los Angeles neighborhood, trading steps with a variety of people he encounters along his journey.

The new "Say Say Say" remix was put together by combining unused vocals McCartney and Jackson had recorded, along with an instrumental mix of the tune the DJ John "Jellybean" Benitez had created.  The updated version features Paul and Michael switching vocal parts in the verses in comparison with the original song, with Jackson singing the first line, followed by McCartney.

McCartney recalls his collaboration with Jackson on "Say Say Say" took place after Michael phoned him and told him he wanted to write a song with him.

"So he came over to England and we just sat down.  I thought, well, it's not easy to just sit down with anyone you don't know and just start songwriting because you've got to get the chemistry right," Paul explains.  "But I thought, it is Michael -- you know, I'll just try! If it doesn't work, we'll just throw it away."

Of course, the duet turned out to be a great success, and ended up topping the Billboard Hot 100 for an impressive six weeks in 1983.
