Macca & Stevie Wonder's "Ebony and Ivory" Remix
A new remix of Paul McCartney's chart-topping 1982 duet with Stevie Wonder, "Ebony and Ivory," has premiered exclusively at Billboard.com.
The track will be featured on the remastered and expanded reissue of McCartney's 1982 Tug of War album, which will be released on October 2.
"Ebony and Ivory," was one of two duets with Wonder featured on Tug of War, which was produced by longtime Beatles producer George Martin. The song stayed at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks beginning in May of '82, the longest chart-topping run of any of McCartney's post-Beatles hits.
The new remix includes additional vocals, while the bass is heard more prominently than in the original version of the song. The track is part of a disc on the Tug of War reissue that features a remix of the whole album.
On the same day that the Tug of War reissue is released, a similarly revamped version of McCartney's 1983 album, Pipes of Peace, will also hit stores.
Both records will be available in multiple formats, including a two-CD Special Edition, a multiple-disc Deluxe Edition featuring bonus audio and video content, a two-LP vinyl set and digital versions of both the Standard and Deluxe Editions.
