Copy Of Beatles White Album Signed By Charles Manson For Sale Online

A copy of The Beatles' 1968 album 'The White Album' alleged to be signed by Charles Manson is up for sale online.

Manson was convicted of his involvement in a string of murders in Los Angeles in 1969, including the killing of pregnant actress Sharon Tate. He is currently imprisoned in California State Prison in Corcoran.

'The White Album' is said to have been a major influence on Manson's cult, The Manson Family, with the group deciphering its lyrics for hidden meanings.

Now, a copy of the vinyl record is being sold by online auction website iOffer for a Buy-It-Now price of £31,856.50 (nearly $50,000). The seller is also accepting bids for the item.

The front cover of the album is said to include signatures by Charles Manson and fellow Manson Family members Susan Atkins, Leslie Van Houten, Charles 'Tex' Watson and Pat Krenwinkel. The seller writes: "The signatures were obtained by a gentleman who was at one time associated with the Manson family at the Spahn Ranch, I choose not to post his name here. He acquired them at the respective prisons where they are incarcerated in California, including Corcoran State Prison, and the California Correctional Institution for women".

A description of the item states that Manson's signature features a swastika drawn next to it and that the seams of the record have been cut with a knife "as the album as checked for possible contraband as it was brought into the prison".

The authenticity of the item hasn't been confirmed but the seller states that they "would always refund an item if shown not to be genuine".
