There's Some Bad News For The AFL Footy Show

The Front Bar has beaten The Footy Show in the first head-to-head battle between the two AFL shows.

The Channel 7 panel show averaged 169,000 viewers in Melbourne last night but the Footy Show took just 164,000.

A Seven spokesperson said the network is chomping at the bit for round two of the rating battle next week.

“Melbourne loves The Front Bar. It’s fun, cheeky and unpredictable.

Whether you’re a footy fan or not and most of us are, there’s a lot to enjoy,” the spokesperson said.

Initial figures had put the Footy Show at 122,000 but Nine admitted they had made a mistake in their codings.

NITVs Marngrook Footy Show, which screened from 7.30pm, averaged 13,000 in Melbourne.
